We design all wedding dresses for ladies

A wedding needs many outfits, and each one should look and feel special. Maker’s School of Fashion Designing designs wedding dresses for ladies – for the bride and for the other ladies of the wedding party – and stitches them to your measurements.

Outfits we design include:

  • Bridal lehengas and bridal gowns
  • Bridal blouses and wedding-function blouses
  • Engagement, sangeet, haldi, mehndi and reception outfits
  • Dresses for the bride’s family and bridesmaids
  • Indo-western and fusion wedding wear

Have something else in mind? Share your idea on WhatsApp and we will discuss it.

From idea to wedding outfit

  1. Share your visionTell us your wedding date, the function, your colours and any reference pictures or ideas you love.
  2. Sketch and planThe design is planned on paper first – sketches and a mood board with colours, fabrics and embellishment ideas.
  3. Fabric and embellishmentChoose the fabric and decide on embroidery, beadwork or other hand-work, for example aari work or hand embroidery.
  4. Pattern and stitchingThe outfit is patterned to your measurements and stitched, using the pattern-making and draping skills taught at the school.
  5. Fittings and finishingFittings make sure the outfit sits perfectly before the final finishing and delivery.

Tips for planning your wedding outfit

  • Contact a designer as soon as your wedding date is fixed, so there is time for design, embroidery and fittings.
  • Collect reference pictures of necklines, sleeves, silhouettes and embroidery you like.
  • Decide on colours and fabric before you finalise embellishment.
  • Plan fittings close to the wedding so the outfit matches your final measurements.
  • Think about the jewellery and accessories you will wear, so the neckline works with them.

Embroidered and embellished wedding wear

Wedding outfits often carry rich hand-work. Aari work, zardozi, mirror work and bead and sequin embellishment are all skills we teach at the school – see our aari work classes and hand embroidery classes. Tell us the look you want and we will discuss what is possible for your design.
