About Hand Embroidery Classes in Virar West
Hand embroidery turns a plain piece of fabric into something personal. In this course you begin with the stitches every embroiderer relies on – running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, chain stitch and the French knot – and build up to traditional Indian embellishment such as Zardozi, mirror work and bead and sequin attachment.
You also learn fabric smocking, the gathered and pleated texture used on necklines, cuffs and children’s wear. Each module ends with a project, so by the end of the course you have a cushion cover, a blouse panel and a smocked dress section to show for your work. Premium thread and bead kits and smocking frames are included.

Hand Embroidery & Smocking in Virar – frequently asked questions
Do I need to know embroidery before joining?
No. The course starts with the foundational stitches and builds up from there.
What is fabric smocking?
Smocking is a technique of gathering fabric and stitching it into regular pleats that form decorative, stretchy patterns. It is widely used on necklines, cuffs and children’s dresses.
What are the fees for hand embroidery classes?
The full course costs ₹7,000, with premium thread and bead kits and smocking frames included.
Do you teach zardozi, zari work and bead work?
Yes. Zardozi, mirror work and bead and sequin attachment are part of the Traditional Indian Techniques module, so this course also works as your zardozi, zari-style and bead work class. Heavy aari-style bead and stone embellishment is covered further in our Aari Work course.
Do you offer embroidery classes for beginners in Virar?
Yes. This is our embroidery class for beginners: it starts with running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, chain stitch and the French knot.
What is the difference between hand embroidery and aari work?
Hand embroidery is stitched with an ordinary needle and thread, while aari work uses a hooked aari needle on a stretched frame to make fast chain stitches, and is popular for heavy bridal embellishment. We teach both – see our Aari Work course.
